Note that the RB42 is a passive speaker and requires an amplifier or receiver to produce sound. It cannot be connected directly to a turntable, computer, or phone.

The stout 4-inch woofer is built on a truncated heavy steel frame and substantial magnet structure. Its long throw design incorporates a coated pressed paper cone with concave dust cap, large radius rubber surround, and vented pole piece.
The tweeter is based on Micca’s popular 0.75-inch silk dome design, using an high efficiency neodymium magnet and a form-cut bezel for tight driver spacing. Translucent mesh fabric over beveled thin frame make up the acoustically transparent grill cover.
The RB42 owes its tonal balance and transparency to a 10-element crossover that uses high grade film capacitors and air core coils for key components. Both the tweeter and woofer circuits have a 18dB/octave slope to enhance power handling, dramatically reduced lobing, and superior off-axis performance.
Distortion and coloration is effectively reduced through the use of ¾-inch thick MDF panels on all sides of the enclosure, with 100% miter joints for greater bonding contact area. The enclosure is stuffed to specific density with polyfill to eliminate resonance and enhanced enclosure tuning.
The RB42 has a versatile sound signature. On the one hand it is fun, energetic, and inviting to listen to for hours on end, but sit down in the sweet spot for a dedicated session and you’ll be rewarded by its revealing qualities full of dynamic detail.
The bass extension and output is unusually satisfying for such a compact speaker, while its smooth frequency response reproduces music faithfully with engaging tonal balance. The tweeter is level biased just slightly below neutral to reduce listening fatigue without losing a ounce of detail.
